Alex Westmore is a sought-after yoga instructor based on L.A.’s West Side. Known for her light and playful spirit, Alex works with a wide range of private clients and teaches flow classes at the Yoga Collective in Venice, Sweat in Santa Monica, and at Five Point Yoga in Malibu. Alex also teaches at The Stable, a private outpatient treatment center in Malibu.

Born in Japan and raised half the time in Asia, Alex was exposed to yoga’s health benefits at a young age. She was always very connected to her body, a gifted athlete, but found yoga boring. She would watch her older sister practice the asanas, or poses, on a daily basis. It wasn’t until her beloved sister’s untimely passing that she adopted a practice and understood the power of yoga to heal and transform lives.

Inspired to help others receive the gift of yoga, Alex undertook an intensive period of study that included a 200-hour teacher training at Yoga Works in Santa Monica, a Kundalini teacher training at L.A.’s Golden Bridge, and a Jivamukti Immersion course with David Life and Sharon Ganon at the Omega Institute in upstate New York.

In the seven years since completing her training, Alex has become a high-level teacher loved for her hands-on approach and compassionate heart. She teaches Chair Yoga to seniors and most recently, she developed “Yoga for the Senses” – a three-hour workshop which integrates sound healing, light therapy, aromatherapy, massage and acupuncture into a yoga flow class.

Alex’s greatest joy lies in sharing the power of yoga with others, and she is honored to do so on a daily basis.
